Develco demonstration ZigBee Smart Energy devices at ZigBee Alliance European Smart Energy Forum

Develco today announced it participation in the European Smart Energy Forum being held on Feb 13th in Dublin, IR.  ZigBee technology has become a standard for implementing Home Area Networks (HAN) in North America, with over 25 million ZigBee Smart Energy implementations underway. This technology, utilizing Freescale Semiconductor’s Smart Energy platform, is already being implemented in Europe to help utilities provide greater control of energy usage.

- and the effects on the environment will be a hot topic at the Climate Summit, COP15, held in Copenhagen, December, 2009.  ZigBee technology is emerging as one of the important technologies utilized to help meet these challenges.
Develco is demonstrating this technology in products, many of which are already in the market, allowing utilities to rollout smart meters that can help drive more energy efficient homes.  Through communication from the utility to the meter and into the premises, utility companies can have better control of the energy load, while providing users key information to enable more efficient use of energy.  Develco has teamed up with Freescale, a market leader in ZigBee technology, to develop solutions for their customers.
