Top industry meeting-place for manufacturers of coils, electric motors, generators and transformers
Companion trade fairs Industrial Automation, Energy and MobiliTec swell the number of potential buyers
Now in its third year, CoilTechnica has established itself as the leading international meeting-place for suppliers of coils, electric motors, generators and transformers. This year the show takes place as part of the HANNOVER MESSE cross-industry showcase in Hall 25, alongside the leading trade fairs Energy, MobilTec and Industrial Automation. Perfectly positioned next to pools of potential buyers and business partners, CoilTechnica covers the complete spectrum of electrical engineering components and their manufacture.
As well as coils, electric motors, generators and transformers, the range of exhibits includes systems for testing, measuring and diagnostics, insulation materials, coil components, winding technology and production equipment. The displays representing the various disciplines within the coil-winding industry are grouped together by theme, and offer product developers, decision-makers and buyers all the contacts and connections they need to conduct an in-depth dialogue.
Acting as official partners for CoilTechnica are the "Subcontracting" platform within the the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI), the EEIM (European Electrical Insulation Manufacturers) and this year for the first time the International Coilwinding Association (icwa).
"The demand for electrical components such as coils and transformers is rising sharply, thanks to the increased use of alternative energies and the rapid growth of the electromobility sector. CoilTechnica is a great place to capitalize on this upturn to make contacts with the right sectors of industry," says Dr.-Ing. Rolf Winter, Managing Director of the ZVEI trade association Electrical Winding & Insulation Systems.
Norbert Rudat, Secretary of the EEIM, is equally impressed by the show's concept:
"Making CoilTechnica an integral part of HANNOVER MESSE, a `show within a show'as it were, gives manufacturers of electrical insulation materials an excellent opportunity to exhibit their products at the right time and in the right place for their buyer industries to see them. The addition of the Forum with its program of lectures by engineering professionals makes this a very important international gathering for the member firms of our European industry association EEIM."
The need for suppliers to adapt to new value-adding chains in the automobile industry with the rise of electromobility is also something that exhibitors at CoilTechnica 2012 have taken into consideration. One example is the collaboration between Synflex and Schwering & Hasse, who have joined forces to establish the "e-votion" platform. The idea is to supply the automotive OEM market with complete electrical insulation packages tailored to specific needs.
All the necessary components such as copper wiring, electrical insulating tape, impregnants, resins, flexible sheet insulation materials, hoses and flexes can now be supplied as a package from a single source, tailored to a specific application. This means that the supply chain for automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers can be significantly slimmed down.
Kienle + Spiess are showing a broad range of stamping and die-casting technologies for the production of electric motors and generators.
The portfolio includes numerous products and components ranging from electrical steel to die-cast rotors, from tooling design to segments for wind turbines and from packages for traction motors to armature stampings for universal motors. In order to guarantee the requisite high quality standards in all areas, the stamping tools and dies are designed and made in the company's own machine shop. The use of three twin-head laser cutting centres also enables Kienle + Spiess to manufacture small production runs and prototypes quickly and flexibly and at very reasonable cost.
At the heart of the show is the CoilTechnica User Forum.
Offering a wealth of background information, examples of practical applications and a program of platform discussions, the Forum affords plenty of opportunities for entering into serious dialogue with people from all sections of the industry. Commercial enterprises, research institutes and trade associations will be presenting the latest technological trends and new industry developments.
