The new amplifiers allow the implementation of fibre-optic sensing systems that offer new levels of performance and convenience in a wide range of industrial applications in, for example, the semiconductor, packaging and automotive sectors, and that offer particular advantages in harsh environments or where space for installation is limited.

  Smart Tuning system
With the new Smart Tuning system used in the E3X-HD amplifiers, light emission and threshold levels are set in a single step, simply by pressing a button once with a target present and again with no target present. With conventional amplifiers, two separate setting steps are needed to achieve optimum adjustment.
As further aids to convenience, the new amplifiers use the same pushbutton – which is easy to operate even with gloved hands – for almost all setting operations, and they eliminate the need for menu systems, which are often complicated and confusing.

  Latest GIGA RAY II LED light source technology
To ensure the highest possible reliability and stability throughout their long working lives, E3X-HD amplifiers incorporate the latest GIGA RAY II LED light source technology, complemented by dynamic threshold control. GIGA RAY II light sources offer 1.5 times the efficiency of conventional LED light sources, providing even longer detection distances, even in harsh operating conditions.  

Dynamic threshold control automatically compensates for reduction in light levels in the sensor system due to build up dust and dirt, mechanical vibration or the natural ageing of the light source. This means that the sensor always operates at its optimum threshold point without the need for manual adjustment or maintenance.

Easy integration of our E3X-HD amplifiers with the latest automation systems is assured by their support for EtherCAT, a high-speed Ethernet-based real-time industrial bus system that is growing rapidly in popularity. The amplifiers can also be readily integrated with the new NJ/Sysmac industrial control platform, which makes setting up and parameterisation especially easy.
